Aldam Resort has an annual booking over the Easter Weekend from us and family. It has become the venue that hosts the informal fishing competition between four households. I won’t say that the fishing is always the best, but when it is on, you battle to keep both rods in the water!
We enjoy this resort because it offers all the large resort facilities such as put-put, super-tube, swimming pools, play areas, wild-life, restaurant, etc. and also affords us fisherman chance to be carpy and have a real fishing competition next to a large dam.
The dam level is normally low which allows for more water front. You can stay on the designated sites but for fishing, move down to the dam and pitch anywhere. Normally I setup main camp with electricity and the family at the reserved site and then move down with my son with the tents to the water for night fishing. Build a pit right next to the water using the rocks for protection.
I have many memories of nights outside, starlit and beautiful fires. 🙂 Gone Trekking memories at its best.
