Overview of Trout Hunters
Another favorite fishing venue in Gauteng close to Krugersdorp. Fishing at Trout hunters is normally not too crowded and plenty of mid-sized fish. The odd large fish. We like it because the kids can run around barefoot, bathrooms are close by and the area is always well kept with braai facilities all around the various dams.Shade is limited to one section, so bring a gazebo or umbrella. Also note that no boilie fishing is aloud.
We have done well using small hooks, plain baits and bread at this venue.

Trout Fishing
- Location: Top dam near the office
- Requirements: Landing net is compulsory
- Pricing: Trout catch and keep at R105/kg
Carp Fishing
- Population: Abundant carp, with the largest catch at 16kg
- Requirements: Carp must be released; landing net is compulsory
- Fishing Methods: Fly fishing and traditional methods; carp bite on everything

- Arrival Talk: Educational session on wetland plants, animals, and the importance of wetlands in South Africa, led by the resident scientist
