This video will show you how to get your marine fishing license in South Africa. The fishing license was renamed a few years ago to the National Fishing Permit. So if you are looking for the National Fishing Permit, this is the video for you.
Please note that the blue form is for “Marine” which means ocean and river mouths. Not fresh water fishing.

The short instructions: – Head to the nearest post office – Ask them when you arrive if they have the forms. Not all post offices can offer this or have the forms. – Complete the form. You need to have the following information:
- Name and Surname
- ID number
- Telephone number
- Address
- Make sure to tick annual or monthly
- Tick the “Angling” option
- Sign
- Pay ZAR75 (this was in 2020)
